Diana H. Varat is an associate in the
Public Law Department at Richards, Watson & Gershon. Ms.
Varat represents public agencies in a
wide range of government law issues, with an emphasis on land use, housing, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and conflicts of interest. She is a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and currently serves as Vice Director of Policy for the APA's Los Angeles Chapter.
Ms. Varat obtained her law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
She received a Master of Arts in Urban Planning concurrently with
her law degree, with a concentration in Housing. Prior to
attending law school, Ms. Varat worked with the City Planning Office
in Dresden, Germany. From 2001-2003, Ms. Varat served as Project
Associate for the Comparative Urban Studies Project at the Woodrow
Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.
