D. Craig Fox is a senior attorney in
the Public Law Department at Richards, Watson & Gershon with more than 27 years of municipal experience, both as an advisor to City Councils, Planning Commissions, police, fire and other departments and as a litigator of municipal and police tort defense, code enforcement and land use cases in state and federal courts. He has served as Deputy and Assistant City Attorney to numerous cities
and is currently Assistant City Attorney and Planning Commission
Counsel to the Cities of La Mirada, Brea, Mission Viejo and Buena
Park.
Mr. Fox concentrates on the representation of public agency clients in many areas of government law including public works bidding and contracting, governmental procurements, energy savings contracting, software and technology, utility franchising, risk management, Public Records Act, Brown Act, conflicts of interest, land use, drafting of legislation, wireless regulation and leasing, and police and fire policies and procedures. His litigation background provides him with a unique perspective
and ability to effectively handle a wide range of municipal issues.
