Geoffrey Ward is an associate in the Public Law Department at Richards,
Watson & Gershon. Mr. Ward currently serves as an Assistant
City Attorney for the Cities of Beverly Hills, Monrovia, and San
Fernando. Mr. Ward concentrates on the representation of public
agencies in a wide range of government law issues. His practice
focuses on elections, political law and ethics compliance, including
advising agencies on the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act, the
Public Records Act, and other ethics and open government laws. His
practice has also included litigating code enforcement cases and
advising local agencies on land use, First Amendment issues, and
affordable housing laws.
Mr. Ward obtained his law degree from the University of Southern
California Law School. During law school Mr. Ward served on the
Southern California Law Review, externed for the Honorable Richard
Kramer of the Complex Litigation Department of the San Francisco
Superior Court, and was a summer associate at RW&G in 2005.
Before attending law school he worked as a legislative associate
for a nonprofit advocacy organization in Washington, DC where he
lobbied for election, ethics, and campaign finance reforms. He also
spent two years on the personal staff of Members of the U.S. House
of Representatives.
