Thomas M. Jimbo is a shareholder in the Litigation Department and
Eminent Domain Practice Group at Richards, Watson & Gershon.
Mr. Jimbo specializes in the area of eminent domain representing
public entities through all phases of the pre-condemnation and condemnation
process. Mr. Jimbo has litigated numerous issues dealing with condemnation
proceedings including a municipality's right to take, loss of business
goodwill and precondemnation damages and severance damages. Mr.
Jimbo also has extensive experience representing insurance companies
in all aspects of insurance coverage law. He has defended insurance
carriers in lawsuits alleging bad faith conduct and prosecuted and
defended declaratory relief actions relating to an insurer's duty
to defend and duty to indemnify. Mr. Jimbo has handled insurance
litigation matters dealing with construction defects, Cumis counsel
issues, intellectual property claims, first party arson and property
loss cases and general commercial disputes. He has provided extensive
coverage advice to insurance carriers in the form of coverage opinions
on a wide range of insurance coverage issues.
