RedevelopmentRW&G's redevelopment lawyers serve as agency or special counsel to a number of redevelopment agencies and community development commissions throughout the State, including Agoura Hills, Artesia, Blythe, Brea, Buena Park, Calimesa, Highland, Indio, Industry, La Mirada, Manteca, Morgan Hill, Norwalk, Palm Desert, Pasadena, Rancho Cucamonga, Rancho Palos Verdes, San Fernando, Seal Beach, Temecula, Upland, West Hollywood, Whittier, and Yucaipa. We have extensive experience with the entire spectrum of redevelopment concerns including, plan adoption (activating redevelopment agencies, selecting project areas, adopting, amending and merging redevelopment plans, working with project area committees and other community advisory groups); project implementation (plan interpretation, acquiring and disposing of property, developing and financing projects, CEQA, brownfields redevelopment and other hazardous materials issues, relocation, affordable housing, negotiating agreements, etc.); drafting and advising on new legislation; and defending the actions of our redevelopment agency clients in court (validation actions, defending CEQA and other challenges to disposition and development agreements, etc.). In our role as agency counsel and special counsel to numerous redevelopment agencies, we work on redevelopment projects of varying sizes, from residential rehabilitation loans for affordable housing to complex real estate transactions involving hotels and regional shopping malls, on a daily basis. We also provide advice regularly on the adoption, amendment and implementation of redevelopment plans.
