Overview

Our public finance attorneys assist public agencies with achieving their unique economic development goals, which has become challenging since the dissolution of redevelopment.  Transactions that promote economic development involve many legal considerations, which warrant a careful approach. The firm assisted in writing legislation to promote public agencies’ economic development goals, including AB 806, which builds on existing economic development powers of cities, counties and cities, and counties by specifying that they may acquire, sell or lease property to create an economic opportunity and may loan funds under certain conditions, and AB 811, which authorizes public financing for renewable energy, energy efficiency and water efficiency improvements.
