Overview
Our Solid Waste Focus Area helps public agencies to address the collection of solid waste and recyclables in their communities, as well as achieving compliance with the California Integrated Waste Management Act and other applicable laws. With the expertise of our public law attorneys, this Focus Area addresses the wide range of legal issues associated with collection of solid waste and recyclables.
Representative Services
Collection Agreements: the procurement, negotiation, drafting, and enforcement of solid waste collection (franchise) agreements.
Regulatory Ordinances: assistance in drafting and enforcing ordinances and policies relating to solid waste and recyclables.
Fees and Rates: assistance in compliance with laws applicable to setting and adjusting fees and rates, including compliance with Proposition 218 and related requirements.
