The Model Notice Regarding Disability Access Laws Is Now Available in Six Languages on the Division of the State Architect Website

Alert
03.07.2019

Cities and counties are required to provide a notice about state and federal disability access laws to applicants for commercial construction building permits and business licenses in accordance with Assembly Bill 3002. The new law requires the Division of the State Architect (DSA) to provide a Model Notice for cities and counties to use.

The English version of the Model Notice was previously posted on the DSA website. The DSA has now posted the Model Notice in the five other required languages (Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Korean) at this link. The requirement for cities and counties to provide this notice took effect January 1, 2019.

If you have questions regarding AB 3002, the Model Notice, or any other disability access laws, please contact Amy Greyson.
