Eminent Domain Attorneys

RWG is accepting resumes for two positions in its Eminent Domain Department. Candidates for the first position must have 1-2 years of litigation experience, and candidates for the second position should have 5+ years of general civil litigation experience, experience with preparing and responding to discovery and preparing and arguing motions. A strong interest in Eminent Domain is desirable. Candidates will gain immediate courtroom experience, have frequent client contact, and work closely with experienced litigators on a broad range of civil litigation. Public Finance Attorney

Richards Watson & Gershon is currently seeking a public finance attorney with a minimum of two years of municipal bond finance experience to work in our downtown Los Angeles office. The firm serves as bond, issuer and disclosure counsel in municipal bond transactions involving cities, counties, school districts, special districts, and joint powers authorities. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, California Bar membership, superior research and writing skills, and a commitment to professional excellence. 

Labor & Employment Attorney

We are seeking a litigator with a minimum of three years’ experience (more experience highly desirable) for our labor and employment department. Our ideal candidate will be able to conduct discovery, write motions, appear in court, assist with research and strategy, and manage the day-to-day aspects of a case, including client interface, with minimal supervision. Experience with public agencies, administrative and quasi-judicial proceedings, and representation in Title VII and FEHA cases is strongly preferred. Candidates must be committed to labor and employment litigation, but may also assist in advising clients on a range of issues including public retirement systems, Cal/OSHA compliance, labor negotiations, and disciplinary matters. Candidates may also occasionally be asked to assist with non-employment litigation. California Bar membership, superior research and writing skills, and strong academic credentials are required.

Public Law Associates

Richards Watson & Gershon is seeking two public law associates to join our Los Angeles office. We will consider candidates with 0-2 years and 3+ years’ experience with an emphasis on the representation of public entities on a variety of public law matters. Knowledge of the Brown Act, Public Records Act and conflict of interest laws is important. Experience in advising City Councils, Planning Commissions, or other governing boards at public meetings is desirable. The ability to work directly and effectively with clients is an essential skill for this position. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, California Bar membership, superior research and writing skills, and a strong commitment to professional excellence.

Significant expertise in handling land use and CEQA matters and the ability to take the lead on complex land use projects is highly desired. Real estate and other transactional expertise also will be considered favorably. A successful candidate is expected to be able to advise City Councils, Planning Commissions or other governing boards at public meetings. In addition to its general public law practice, the San Francisco office represents several clean energy joint power authorities who are at the forefront of addressing climate change through the purchase of renewable energy and the development of decarbonization programs. Strong writing and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients are essential.
