“Open and Public” Meetings and the COVID-19 Virus Emergency

As more and more public events are cancelled to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Governor Newsom yesterday issued an Executive Order which suspends certain requirements of the Brown Act. But local public agency meetings are still required to be “open and public.” Richards, Watson & Gershon has issued an advisory regarding public agency meetings during the COVID-19 virus emergency, which is available here:
